City hosts contests for the youth!

The City of Monte Vista is hosting a coloring/drawing contest for students in preschool to 3rd grade, and an essay contest for students 4th to 12th grade. to celebrate Colorado Cities & Towns Week, we invite you to participate. The contest theme is “My city/town is great because … ”. It encourages students to think about the important services that the city/town provides It is open to any grade student living in the city.

• August 30th by 4:00 pm: Entries due to city hall, please mark with attention to Azarel Madrigal, Community Development Assistant.

• August 31st- September 5th: Municipal committee determines winners. One winner
per grade group.

• Wednesday, Sept. 5: We will contact teachers and notify them of winning entry(s)

• City of Monte Vista Community BBQ and CML Cities & Towns Week Celebration, Tuesday, September 12th 5:00 pm. Winners will be announced at 6:00 pm, winners will
also be announced on the city website and the official city Facebook page. Winners will be recognized at the BBQ with a certificate.

Each entry should include:
Student name, student grade, teacher contact information (or parent information, contact information will be used to contact winner), school address.
